The Shotokan-ZA National Championships took place on 30 July 2016 at the Danie van Zyl Recreation Hall, Johannesburg. Shotokan Kata rules applied for all kata events and Shobu Ippon rules applied for individual kumite events, while Shobu Sanbon rules applied for the team kumite events.
